Clara Shen(Germany)

Clara Shen, born in Munich in 2005, started playing the violin aged 5. In 2014, she became junior student in the violin class of professor Sonja Korkeala at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts. Additionally, she began studying the violin under professor Paul Roczek in the Pre-College at Mozarteum in Salzburg in 2016. 

At the age of 9, she won the 1st prize in the national competition “Jugend musiziert”, associated with a special award of the “Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben”, and was also awarded with a special prize of the Sparkasse. She made her debut as a soloist at the age of 11, performing Bruch's Violin Concerto no.1 in G minor at the Herkulessaal Munich with the orchestra of Bavarian Philharmonic under the baton of Mark Mast. Clara plays on a violin made by Lorenz Küntzel 1864, which is provided by the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben.
